Drug Take-Back Program

BEGINNING MONDAY, APRIL 2, 2012, the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with Meeker County Public Health and Litchfield Area Rural Partners in Prevention (LARPP), is pleased to offer "Take It To The Box", a drug take-back program to Meeker County residents.  This is a free service to County residents in an effort to provide a safe and secure way of disposing of unneeded, unwanted, or expired prescription or over-the-counter medications.  There is a secured drop box in the lobby of the Law Enforcement Center.  The Law Enforcement Center lobby is open 24/7/365, so you can drop your medications any time that is convenient for you.  Drugs do not have to be in their original packaging.  Just bring them in and dump them in the secure drop box....it's as simple as that!  See the document link below for contact information if you have questions.

Meeker County, Minnesota
, is located approximately one hour west of Minneapolis, and our population is approximately 23,250, covering 610 square miles. Government offices are housed in the County Courthouse, the Family Services Center, the County Highway/MN DOT Transportation Facility, and the Law Enforcement Center in the county seat of Litchfield. Meeker County boasts a wonderful combination of rolling farmland and over 100 swimming and fishing lakes. We are home to some of the state's largest dairy and poultry operations as well. Our residential population is steadily growing with many new development and housing projects in the works. We also offer excellent health care facilities including the Meeker County Memorial Hospital, which is also located in Litchfield.  Area lakes, combined with many interesting historical sites and fun-filled small town festivals throughout the year, provide numerous recreational opportunities.    Meeker County is a "family-minded" community that invites you to come, establish your roots and enjoy all that we have to offer.
